Our favorite recipies and restaurant food
Sitting in restaurant -- saw ad for snickers pie. -- reminded me of mom -- have to ask my sister if she has the recipe

The answer to my query follows —
Ok here goes:
16 graham crackers rolled fine
1/2 cup melted butter
1/2 cup sugar
1 tspn. cinnamon
Mix these ingredients thoroughly. With half the mixture line an ungreased pie plate.
Fill with the following custard:
3 egg yolks, 1 tspn. butter, 2 cups milk, 1/2 cup sugar, 2 tblspn. cornstarch, 1 tspn. vanilla.
Cook until of custard consistency.
Make a meringue of the 3 egg whites and cream of tartar.
Spread meringue over the custard and sprinkle remaining crumbs over the top.
Bake for 30 minutes @ 350. She didn't add the meringue recipe, but you should be able to find one on line or in a cookbook.
Good luck, you know how mom's recipes were. She got most of them from her mother who never used one, she just made things up as she went!
We substituted Can't Believe It's Not Butter and Splenda — turned out fairly well. It is just as sweet as when mom put in on the table.
